Make a stunning blanket with this Colorful Butterfly crochet pattern

Let spring vibes linger a bit longer with this Colorful Butterfly design! I’m in love with this beautiful crochet pattern and I hope you will, too.

Butterflies are often associated with springtime because this is the time of year when the weather becomes warmer and they begin to emerge from their cocoons.

As flowers begin to bloom and the days become longer, butterflies emerge and begin to feed on nectar and mate. That’s why we often see a bunch of them in places like gardens, parks, and meadows during the spring and summer months.

The arrival of butterflies in the spring is celebrated among many cultures as a sign of good luck and a bountiful harvest to come. Plus, a butterfly’s transformation is a great reminder of the cycle of life and the potential for growth and change.

Because of these lovely and meaningful symbolisms, this butterfly crochet pattern is created. It’s an ideal design to celebrate the beauty of spring and life in general.

I made sure to make a stunning butterfly in multiple colors for aesthetic appeal. And since butterflies are a beloved part of the natural world and their colorful wings serve as a reminder of nature’s wonder, I put emphasis on this butterfly’s wings.

The original color palette calls for shades of pink, purple, and red, but you can use other colors that will better express your creativity and personal taste.

And the best part is this design is very versatile. You can use it to make a butterfly crochet blanket to adorn your couch or a unique wall tapestry to add a touch of whimsy to your room.

You can also use it for knitting, cross-stitch, Hama beads, diamond painting, and other crafts that require a pixel graph.

And like my other spring-inspired designs, such as Ladybug Print and Cute Bumblebee, this crochet pattern is a great option for making a one-of-a-kind gift for a loved one who loves springtime.

You can change the butterfly wings’ colors based on your recipient’s favorite shades, and add details and embellishments to make your present unforgettable.

For instance, you could add small flowers or leaves applique around the butterfly, or you could use different stitch patterns to create a textured effect.

New to crochet? No problem. Another great thing about this pattern is that it’s easy to follow and beginner-friendly.

It offers you multiple methods to complete your project, letting you choose which way is the best for you and your skill level.

I also created this complete guide to C2C crochet for beginners that’s helpful if you’d like to know more about the technique to make a larger butterfly crochet blanket.

And whenever you’re ready, you can download your free crochet butterfly graph below. Happy crocheting!

Colorful Butterfly is a digital download (available in PDF format only) that you can use to crochet a blanket using various techniques, such as C2C, Mini C2C, SC, HDC, Tapestry Crochet etc.

You can also use this design for other crafts such as knitting, cross-stitch, diamond beads painting, hama beads, plastic canvas, and any other crafts that use pixelated images.
