Octopus Kraken C2C Crochet Pattern & Free Graph

Octopus Kraken Blanket With Free Crochet Graph
If you’re fond of mythical creatures or a fan of fantasy and mystery, you will enjoy this Octopus Kraken crochet pattern!
Both octopuses and krakens have unusual physical features that set them apart from other animals. Octopuses have eight arms covered in suckers and can change color and texture to blend in with their surroundings.
Krakens are giant sea monsters with unique appearances that can be both beautiful and eerie.
I find them fascinating, and I think many people do, too. Have you noticed how often they appeared in popular culture, from books and movies to video games and cartoons?
So today, I’m sharing a special animal crochet pattern inspired by these two well-known creatures.
Unlike typical depictions of krakens, this hybrid octopus isn’t too scary-looking. While it has a slightly fierce look, I still find this kraken crochet pattern adorable. Perhaps it’s because of its big soft eyes or the little stubby tentacles?
I used shades of green in the original design and laid it on a contrasting blue background to express the under-the-sea theme.
But as always, you can personalize the style by switching the color palette to your favorite shades. You can make it as subtle or bright as you want according to your needs.
For instance, if you want to add a pop of color to your kid’s playroom, a crochet octopus blanket in playful colors of orange, yellow, pink, or red will look great.
On the other hand, a kraken tapestry wall hanging in neutral shades like gray or black will be a cool accent piece in your living room or bedroom.
Similar to my other ocean animal crochet patterns like the Narwhal Uniwhale and Sea Turtle, this c2c design is simple to follow and beginner-friendly.
Also, I have an in-depth guide on C2C that’s perfect if you’re interested in the technique and want to check out helpful video tutorials.
Aside from crochet, you can use this pattern for cross-stitch, Hama bead, diamond painting, and other crafts requiring pixel graphs. So, you can make plenty of handmade gifts for your loved ones that are big fans of mythology and fantasy.
Whether for a friend obsessed with krakens or a family member who adores octopuses, this design will help you make a thoughtful present.
It comes in two pattern options: C2C and row-by-row. This way, you can have fun making your crochet kraken blanket in whichever method you wish.
You can also choose if you want to create a project using a color block or written pattern; both ways are available. Plus, there are small and large graphs to help you track your progress.
And speaking of graphs, you can download the single-page graph of the octopus kraken crochet pattern for free below.
