Retro Squares Print Blanket With Free Crochet Graph

Nostalgic designs like this Retro Squares Print crochet pattern always remind me of those good, old, simple times. Do you feel the same way? If so, you’ll love my latest design!

Many retro prints have stood the test of time and remain popular today, and I hope that this retro squares crochet design will be the same.

Bold geometric designs like this take me back to the colorful and fun styles of the 60s and 70s. So whenever I see this pattern, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia and appreciation for the distinct fashion of the earlier years.

I tried to choose retro colors that pop like red and blue, then complete the design with a pale yellow background.

But with all the iconic colors of the past decades, I can’t wait to see your take on this pattern. I’m excited about what playful color combination you’ll use for your blanket!

Compared to Retro Circles Print and Retro Floral Leaf Pattern, my previous retro designs, this one requires fewer yarn colors and has a simpler print.

So, it’s a fantastic pattern for beginners who’d like to practice crochet colorwork—it’s enjoyable and provides just the right challenge if you’re new to crochet.

Since retro designs offer a unique style that sets them apart from modern designs, they are great if you wish to add color and character to your home.

You can use this pattern to make a crochet retro blanket that can be used as a decorative accent in a room. It can be draped over a couch or chair to add color and texture, or folded at the foot of a bed to add visual interest.

It’s also an ideal design to use for eye-catching tapestry wall hanging. You can display the handmade wall decor item in any room you’d like to add a unique and stylish touch.

And because it’s a multipurpose pattern that you can use for other crafts that require pixel graphs, it’s a handy design to make cross-stitch, Hama beads, and other DIY gifts.

But if you’re truly interested to make a blanket and want to learn C2C crochet, I have a detailed guide on corner-to-corner crochet you’d find helpful.

Like the rest of my patterns, I created this crochet retro design to be as easy to follow as possible. It comes with small and large graphs and is written in two ways.

The c2c pattern is perfect for making bedspreads and large blankets, while the row-by-row pattern works great for crocheting baby blankets and wall hangings.

I hope you enjoyed this design and if you’re ready to crochet something nostalgic, the free crochet retro graph awaits you below. Happy crocheting!

Retro Squares Print is a digital download (available in PDF format only) that you can use to crochet a blanket using various techniques, such as C2C, Mini C2C, SC, HDC, Tapestry Crochet, etc.

You can also use this design for other crafts such as knitting, cross-stitch, diamond beads painting, Hama beads, plastic canvas, and any other crafts that use pixelated images.
